5 minutes with Ange Collins, Director of Adllins Media

  1. What services does your business provide?

Adllins Media is a full-service media agency, providing services from digital marketing with social media and Google Ads to website creation and development, creative design, videography, photography, content creation and so much more! This year we expanded our operation to Regional Victoria, providing the same level of products and services from our new hub in the South. We are also the publishing house for the region’s only dedicated business-to-business magazine and online platform Connect Cairns.

  1. How long has your business been running and how long have you worked there?

The business will be five years in operation this December, which is a massive feat. I’ve owned and operated Adllins Media since its inception in December 2016. This year marks my 20-year anniversary in the industry, with a continued massive love for all things media and marketing. I’ve navigated my way through multiple careers in the industry, working for big commercial companies before being encouraged and inspired to start my own. I had a taste of corporate life with media giants Fairfax and NewsCorp before commencing my own stable of businesses and have never looked back!

  1. How long have you lived in Cairns?

I moved to Cairns in June 2011, which is another milestone for this year, chalking up a decade in a region that I’m truly passionate and inspired to live and work in. One of my clients has always shared that I’ve got to hit 25 years before I can declare the local’s notch in my belt, but I’m taking this moment of 10 years as well on my way!

  1. Where is your favourite place in Far North Queensland and why?

There are so many! If I had to pick a beach, my favourite place is Etty Bay down past Innisfail. It’s just incredible, there are always cassowaries, big lizards, skydivers landing on the beach, and it is secluded and beautiful. If I were to think about my all-time favourite place within a stone’s throw, it would be Tinaroo. It has everything for me, and being a rural girl, Tinaroo is probably the closest I can get to that feeling of home.

  1. What is your favourite quote?

“Defeat is not declared when you fall down. It is declared when you refuse to get up.” – Manoj Arora

  1. Who is someone who inspires you and why?

I find inspiration in any ordinary person who achieves something extraordinary for themselves. Someone I’ve always followed is Richard Branson, and his recent out of space experience was truly admirable.

  1. What do you hope to achieve with your business in 2021/22?

It’s always a multi-pronged approach for me, always having a few irons in the fire! I’d love to see Adllins Media continue to creatively give back to the community where we can and strive to do our part in supporting the region’s continued growth. We’re always looking for new partnership opportunities that are suited to the agency, which provides us with the opportunity to further grow our Cairns-based team – now fifteen strong!
